The Caribou Aircraft Display Area is a multi media computer operated display. This display is unique to this Museum. Through music, sound, photography and lights the visitor traces the life of the
Caribou aircraft from its inception and beginning with the Royal Australian Air Force to present day where it is still in service.
The display begins with a beam of light focused on a Caribou model hung from the ceiling. A short outline of the history of the
Caribou’s operations with the RAAF follows. The commentary and light show details the Caribou’s involvement in Vietnam, its humanitarian operations in many parts of South East Asia and Australia and its many demises. The display slowly illuminates the room to allow the visitor to undertake a more comprehensive investigation of the exploits of the
